Romantic 30th

Hey my second post for today.

This card is for my brother in law, he is 30 soon.  My sister wanted a romantic card for him with 30 on it, just to remind him how old he is lol.  So here is what I came up with.  A really simple design as this is what she asked for.  Also as it is for a man I didn't want to glam it up too much.

This card was easy to put together, I stamped these absolutely beautiful heart stamps from Graphicus with versa ink, covered them with gold embossing powder, used a heat gun to emboss the powder then cut the hearts out.  I cut the 30 using my Cricut and the tiny hearts are a punch.  To these I added tiny gems.  The ribbon is from stash.  I just love these heart stamps.  It is a fab set, check it out here.

This card is entered for the following challenges:

A Spoon Full of Sugar: #122 Anything Goes
Charisma Cardz: #38 Anything Goes
Crazy 4 Challenges: #56 Bling (the gold embossing and gems)
Keep it Simple: Gold Dust
Sentimental Sundays: #22 Dimension (embossing and the middle heart is on foam)

That's all for this post, I'm off to make some more cards now lol x

I'm Back!!!

Hi guys,

Oh I have missed you all so much.  I am back..... YAY!!!!!

In terms of how I'm feeling?  Well I can just about sit now for a decent period of time so that means I can CRAFT AGAIN!!!  I am so behind with my cards.  I have 2 urgent orders and one is complete and below.  This card is made especially for a footy mad young lad, he loves Lionel Messi and Barcelona AND he is going to be 10!!!  This card just turned out lovely, I am sure he will love it.

This is the front of the card.  The boy who the card is for is a huge Messi fan, however I couldn't find a decent picture of him for the card.  Then I found this shirt with the number 10 on it.  As the boy is going to be 10, I had to work with this.  The rest of the card stemed from here.

This is the inside of the card.  A clipart of a football pitch.  I added 3 gems to the centre and goaly box so that when the card was stood up in it's display position the top had something to lean against and stand in the correct position.

This is the card in it's display position.

Another pic of the card in it's display position.

This card was great to make as it is a completely different style for me and I always struggle making cards for boys/men however this is one of my favourite male cards.  I hand cut the footballs from a small bit of scrap dp (Forever Friends-For Him).  I cute the sentiment with my Cricut E, I alternated the maroon and navy to match the Barcelona kit.  I love it.  What do you think?

This card is being centered into:

A Spoon Full of Sugar: #122 Anything Goes
Charisma Cardz: #38 Anything Goes
Allsorts: #71 Plain and Simple
Crafty Sentiments Designs: #36 Use your scraps (footballs cut from scrap dp)
One Stich at a Time: #32 Anything Goes

So good to be back!  Hopefully if I carry on as I have been, trying to relax and rest, then you should see loads more of me in the coming days x Take care everyone x

Ouch : (

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to let you all know I am still here but unfortunately I've had a rather nasty fall.  I was moving my craft stuff upstairs and basically fell down the stairs.  I have really hurt my hand, ankle and back.  I am on really stong pain killers and they are making me feel really rough : / According to the doc I should be better next week.  I had an Xray today just waiting for the results.  Wish me luck as if I have broke anything I will need an op and I can't face that.  My mum and dad are coming over to look after me today, I have never missed my mum so much : ( I know still a kid at 25, I should be ashamed of myself.

I will be back as soon as I can x

A man card

Hiya all,

Hope you are having a fab day.  I sure am, I spent most of it crafting (who doesn't love that).  Then helped the hubby cook and back to crafting, although this will have to be my last post today, sorry xx

I really am pleased with this card.  Like most of us, I find cards for men rather difficult.  But this was lovely to put together and turned out rather sweet.  What do you think?

Card Recipe:  Stamp Wild Rose Studio 'For Men' collection.  The dotty paper is Papermania 'The Big One' and the football paper is Forever Friends 'Just for him'  I love this paper, shame you can't buy it in individual sheets :(  The football in the corner is from stash using a sizzix die I think.  I coloured the image with my Promarkers and that sit, simples....

I'm going to look at some of your work now before I go to bed, I will be back tomorrow with some more fun ideas.

This card is entered into:

Papertake weekly: #47 Sketch (I played around with the sketch a bit, hope that's OK)

Stamped Candle

Hi all,

Right I finally got round to doing it!  Woohoo!  I have seen a few of these and not managed to get down to trying it so I saw a challenge on Charisma cardz (#36 Try Something New) and thought I should pull my finger out and try it.  Sorry about the pic, I just couldn't get a decent picture, I took the candle all around the house with me lol.

So here it is:

Yes I know it is NOT the most beautiful thing I have made but it WORKS!!!  I just picked a simple stamp (from Graphicus) that didn't need any shading etc to test this technique.  All you do it stamp an image onto a tissue paper, colour it using your preferred method (I used a Promarker).  Then cut out the image, position it onto the candle, cover the whole candle (all the way round) with paper, wax paper or grease proof paper (I used an A4 sheet of paper).  Heat over the stamped image with a heat gun, spread heat evenly, remove the paper and your image should have adhered to the candle.  The kinda mistake I made is that I didn't really know when to stop lol.  Then I just added a little glitter around the image to finish it off.  I would love to make some Christmas ones but before I do I thought I would light the candle at home and make sure it is 'safe'.  Don't want any accidents now do we?  Lol

So the candle is lit in my living room right now and it looks lovely.  It will probably be a few days before we get to know if it is safe.  I hope it is as I would love to try it again.  Give it a go and let me know how you get on, or if you have any tips.  I would love to see your creations so leave me a comment so I can come take a look.

Hope you enjoy, I sure did x

Fairy dust Tilda

Hiya again everyone.

Another of my creations for you today.  This time I went back to my favourite colour Pink.  This is the first time I have used this stamp, it was a treat to colour and I added sparkle to the fairy dust.

I created this step card sometime ago when I was playing around with my at the time new hougie board.  It makes cards like this so simple to make.  I bought my hougie from my local craft shop 'Hooked on Crafts' in Kingswood, Bristol-Nik is really nice and very helpful.  It's great because it has cm on one side and inch measurements on the other, no need to purchase 2 boards now.

Card Recipe:  Stamp is Fairy Dust Tilda, DP is Dovecraft Piece of Cake, sentiment is a freebie from a craft magazine from some time ago, rest from stash.

Cute Dog

Hi Guys,

Gosh what a busy week I've had.  Work has been so busy also I've had a rather poorly Ricco (my sweet fur baby).  Me and the hubby have been so worried about him, turns out he had 'dog flu'.  He is still on meds but hopefully on the mend, in fact he's sleeping on my lap right now bless him, rather uncomfortable for me but as long as he's OK hey.  Anyway so this is why I have been a little incommunicardo this week, sorry guys.

This card is for him, Ricco is a Miniature Dachshund but I don't have a dachsy stamp so this is a get better soon card for him.

The stamp is from Wild Rose Studio, sorry can't remember what it is called.  They also have some cute cat stamps.

Card Receipe:  DP Papermania, The Big One.  Image coloured with Promarkers.  Large flowers from Papermania and small ones from Wild Orchid, gems are also Papermania.

I love how this card is so simple yet elegant.  Here's hoping Ricco gets better soon.

Toby with flowers

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all well.  If you are in the UK hope you've managed to enjoy the beautiful weather we've had recently?  I wanted to capture this onto a card and here it is:

This is Toby from Wild Rose Studio, isn't he a cutie?  I love spring and summer because I am a keen gardener and I grow my own veg, and this time of year is when my garden looks at it's best.  I love going into the garden picking my dinner for the day and flowers for the house, it's just great.

Recipe for the card: Toby with flowers stamp-coloured with Promarkers, Papermania flowers, DCWV Spring stack papers, Martha Stewart punch.  I added liquid pearls to the image backing card.  The rest is from stash.  I must say I used the double sided tape from Do Crafts on this card for the first time ever and it really doesn't stick very well, not impressed.  Has anyone else had this problem?

I am entering this card to:

My first Magnolia....

Hi guys,

Now that I have used my FIRST ever Magnolia stamp, I can see why everyone is so addicted to these.  I must admit I wasn't such a fan of these until I started blogging, they are absolutely fantastic stamps, I am so going to get addicted.  My husband still isn't a fan BUT he hasn't seen my card yet lol.  Hopefully he'll love it and then I won't feel so guilty when I go shopping for more lol...  Well he has his cars and I have my crafting so it's fair she says.  Any my hobby is no where near as expensive as his lol....  Anyway enough domestics, down to business.

My card is just gorgeous, I spent a lot of time thinking about this as it is my first Tilda and I wanted to do her justice.  I am spending a lot more time planning my cards now then I ever have, I guess when you blog them you want them to be perfect right?  Also I am loving the results recently so definitely sticking to the planning.  Sorry drifting off again.  So the card lol....

I don't think I could have done her any more justice, what do you think?

Just look at her face, she's just too cute

The sketch for this card came from Just Magnolia.  The recipe for the card: DP My minds eye-Spring, Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, Longing Tilda stamp, Promarkers to colour image, tiny butterfly punch, Cricut to cut circle and tag, computer typed sentiment.  Rest from stash.

Guys, could you do me a favour, as I am new to Magnolia stamps, could you list for me your favourites to help me build my collection?  Now I know some of you will say all of them lol, but I can't afford to buy them all (I wish) so for now, just those you couldn't live without?  I will really appreciate this.

Friday Sketchers

How many posts have I made today?  Lol, I'm on a right role with my cards hey...

So this one has turned out a lot sweeter than I had imagined, don't you just love it when that happens?

The DP is a selection of Papermania, the image is Milton with Stocking from Wild Rose Studio, the flowers are also Papermania.  Gems, glitter and brads from stash.

This card is entered into Friday Sketchers: #117 Sketch (this is where I got the sketch from)

I will keep this post short and sweet as I have had many today haven't I?  Do leave your thoughts on this one, I love seeing your comments.  Also become a follower if you've enjoyed what you've seen on the blog so far.

Pastels

Hia,

Ready for another project?  Well this one is really out of my comfort zone.  When I look at pastels I always end up making new baby cards but today I pushed the boat out a bit and went for a Christmas card.  The inspiration came from Colour Create Challenge #52 Pastel Lilac, Pastel Yellow and Pastel Mint where this card is entered.

The card stock the image is mounted on is Pastel Lilac as is the chalk I rubbed over the embossed card stock.  The embossed card is mounted onto Pastel Yellow and the ribbon is Pastel Mint.  I added some glitter around the stamped image.  I used a tiny snowflake punch to punch a shiny silver flake which is on top of the bowl.  The snowflakes are on the corners are plastic embellishments with gems stuck on them.  The embossed card stock was done with the D'vine swirls Cuttlebug folder.  The actual card is shimmery metallic cream.  For once I have not used any DP!!! Lol Yay...

A close up of the image, again this is Milton from Wild Rose Studio.  I just love these Milton Christmas stamps.  They are just too cute.  I coloured Milton with Promarkers.

Leave me a comment with your thoughts x TC x

Let's get traditional

Hiya again,

I've been looking through my Christmas cards that I have made this year and think they are great but a little contemporary so for this one I tried to get a little traditional.  Not normally my style but it's turned out super cute.

Oh sorry about the lighting, the suns out and I can't find a decent place to take pictures.  The stamp if Forever Friends Christmas Collection, the DPs are all from Papermania Joyeux Noel and the ribbon is stash.  I added some glittery snow to the bears feet.  The image is coloured using Promarkers.  I think this has turned out rather sweet.  What do you think?

This card is entered into The Pixie Cottage #34 Sketch

My first C.C designs card

Hi all,

Hope you are having a great day!  I so sure am, remember yesterday I said I am really excited because I was waiting for my order to come through the post?  Well some of it arrived today and wow am I a bouncing bunny or what lol....

So two of the stamps I ordered were from C.C. Designs, the Butterfly Nora and Field Fence for some of my stamps to sit on.  For this card I have Nora sitting on the fence.

I love this card so much, in fact I think it's my favourite (ok one of my favourites).  I love it so much I couldn't stop taking pictures lol hence a few more pics than usual.

The main reason for making this card is for the HUGE event on at Flutter By Wednesday, you must hop over to see what it is all about, believe me you will not be disappointed ; )

Anyway so you're now thinking how did she do it?  So postman arrived at 12pm I ripped the package open dropped all the stamps onto the sofa and randomly chose one with my eyes closed.  I picked Butterfly Nora, then as I thought about how to put the card together I decided to add the fence to the overall design.  So Nora was stamped and cut out (a little fiddly but well worth it), then the fence was stamped on a separate card stock, Nora was then stuck onto the fence.  As this card is especially for the Flutterfly challenge #120 Birthday Blow out,  I used the butterfly paper from Dovercarft, Wild Blossom.  If you love bright colours, pink, flowers and butterflies this paper is perfect.  The sketch is also from the Flutterfly challenge, I played around with lots of different papers/ribbon etc but I love the finished product and it took me 3hrs to complete.  The image is coloured using Promarkers and I added a little chalk to the background and a little glitter to Nora's wings.  The sentiment is Papermania, in the open space of the stamp I added a tiny butterfly using the same DP as on the body of the card.  A few gems and there we are, a lovely attempt at a fab sketch.  Be sure to play along, there are so many prizes how can you resist?

This card is also entered into:
